About us:

Trekking in the Colca canyon was established solidly in 2004 in Arequipa Peru, (Colca Canyon) I’m binning local tour guide by a group of experienced Andean professional second Polish expedition We fawn the dipped part of Colca canyon 4,200 meters dip Native tour guide. Mr. Marcial was born in the heart of Colca canyon. And small Village San Juan de Chuccho, (inside of Colca canyon) is located in Arequipa region Peru. Marcial has Moved to Arequipa looking for better opportunities, has worked for several travel agencies,  for 11 year experience as a trekking guide in the Colca canyon, in  Arequipa. 5 years tour guide climbing to Chachani, Ampato, Coropuna, Mismi and Misti Volcano.  He has worked in sales and booking manager, later as still tour guide, and he opened a tourist travel agency called ‘COLCA GARDEN E.I.R.L. CON Nº RUC. 20539394909’ it was created to offer different tours and giving better services in the Colca canyon.

Our stuff

All our Tour Guides are Native from Colca canyon Cabanaconde, Caylloma Arequipa highly-experienced, knowledgeable; we speak Quechua and Spanish and fluent English. Some of us also escort groups of tourists in Peru and attend courses on first aid, rescue, high altitude sickness, we explain about traditions, customs, flora and fauna, we you’ll have history, culture and archaeology to tell you.

RELY: Was born in small village in the Colca valley Pincholo community town, after school went to the institution in Yanque and got tours m degree in 4 years. He has  8  years of experience, has worked as a local guide in the tours in the Colca canyon, in office, and later as a professional tour guide, he also speaks quechua, Spanish and fluent English.. 

REYNALDO: He has trekked the Inca Trail and other routes for more than 10 years and escorted groups throughout Peru and Bolivia. His charm and passion for his culture brings it alive and his specialty is the Inca Empire. He is fluent in English, having lived in the United States for a year, and has a Professional tour guide degree.


ROLANDO: Native from Colca canyon Cabanaconde Spanish and English speaking guide, born in small community of Cabanaconde. Moved to Arequipa   looking for better opportunities, has worked for several travel agencies,  as a local guide in the colca canyon, sales and booking  and later as a professional tour guide, he know 'what works and what doesn't'.  He knows many shortcuts to unknown trails, ¡ you’ll have a history to tell!

NORMA: She loves traditional tours in the Colca canyon, in Arequipa region, working for more than 4 years she has discovered the best way to lead happy group, she is a passionate in Andean culture. Tradition and history, She is nice a friendly, happy guide in Colca Canyon.

FRANK: He has Climbing the Chachani Misti Ampato Coropuna and joins Colca Canyon and Volcanoe Andahua Valley and other routes for more than 05 years and escorted groups throughout. His charm and passion for his culture brings it alive and his specialty is the Inca Empire. He is fluent in English, having lived in the United States for a year, and has a Professional tour guide degree.

MARCIAL: Sr: Marcial were born in the heart of Colca canyon. An small Village. San Juan de Chuccho, (inside of Colca canyon) is located in Arequipa region Peru. Marcial has Moved to Arequipa looking for better opportunities, has worked for several travel agencies, for 11 year experience.

WHAT TO BRING?

-sun block, sunglasses, repellent, tennis shoes, swimming suit, summer and winter clothes

IS POSSIBLE TO HAVE MOUNTAIN BIKE AND RIDE HORSE ACTIVITIES

Day 1: A private bus picks you up from your hotel arround 8 a.m. The bus takes you on the road to Yura heading towards the Valley of the Colca. This road, a trip of 4 hours towards your first night destiny, is half asphalted and half of sand. The 4 hours trip is not direct, but highlighted with stops at the most important places.

The first stop will be at the National Reserve of Aguada Blanca and Salinas, a place where you can observe the famous vicuñas and the other side of the volcanoes of Arequipa.

The second stop will be at the Police station where a passengers list will be given to them and after that you continue until the third stop, the restaurant El Chino, where you can use the bathrooms, drink a coca tea – good for stomach and altitude – and a place where you can appreciate the stone wood formations.

The fourth part is a place where you can see llamas and alpacas, domesticated by the man in the heights. The fifth stop is on the highest point called Patapampa 4800 meters above sea level. Here is where you can observe 8 volcanoes forming a circle of fire. From there, you descent until the main town Chivay to have lunch and to rest in your hotel.

You have time off after lunch, visit the market of Chivay, rest or stay in the hotel( if you go to colca lodge hotel after lunch you go to the hotel and enjoy its hot pool, coordinate with the local guide for the time to pick you up the second day for the rest of the tour)

In the afternoon you visit the hot springs of LA CALERA, where you can bathe in one of the pools with water temperature of 35 to 40 degrees Celsius and in the source 80 degrees Celsius. You return to your hotel at night and optional you visit some folkloric peñas in the town of Chivay.

Day 2: After breakfast at 6.00 TO 6:30 am you leave to the Condor Cross, where you can observe the Canyon of the Colca and the flight of the Condor. From Chivay it is approximately one hour and a half driving.

You’ll stay there about 1 hour. Taking the same road back to Chivay, you visit the Colca towns Yanque, with its beautiful church and Maca with its interesting geological problem, the lookout points Huayrapunko – a complete view of the terraces and the mysterious lagoons of the valley – Quehuisha – ice melts originated from the Amazons – .

Finally you arrive in Chivay, where you’ll have lunch and after that you return to Arequipa, approximately at 17.00 pm.

Trekking Colca Canyon 3 days/ 2 night

TREKKING IN THE COLCA CANYON (3 DAYS 2 NIGHTS)

Day 1:

The guide of the travel agency will pick you up early in the morning at 03:00 am and you will travel from Arequipa to Cabanaconde in a touristic bus. After two hours driving, we will have the oportunity to see the sunrise on the mountains. The highest point on our trip is in a place called Patampampa which is located at 4,950 meters above sea level.


There we will stop for some minutes to take pictures of the different volcanoes that can be seen clearly from the area and afterwards we will descend 30 kilometers in order to arrive to Chivay in order to have breakfast.Before getting into Chivay, the van will stop in a check point where a touristic ticket should be payed. The entrance fee is 35 soles per person.

After breakfast we will continue with our trip to Colca Canyon and on the way we are going to see the beautiful landscapes of Colca Valley or as it was called by Mario Vargas Llosa,the Valley of Marvels.


After an hour trip we will arrive to the Condor Cross approximately at 08:30 am and there we will have one hour to see the andean condor which is one of the biggest birds in flight around the world.


The trip continues to Cabanaconde which is 30 minutes away from the Condor Cross.
Our Trekking starts in Pampa San Miguel which is a place close to the edge of the canyon and it will last aproximatedly 4 hours.The views on the way are very impressive and the views of the Canyon here are wider totally different from those we had at the Condor Cross.


Villages like Malata, Cosñirwa, Tapay and San Juan de Chuccho can be seen clearly on the way. Sangalle "oasis" is one of the most well-know places inside the Colca Canyon which is known by them as Oasis.After the descent we will stay in San Juan de Chuccho “Colca Gardens" Camping Lunch is included in the program to and after lunch you will have the rest of the day free to explore the surrounding of the area.


At night we will have dinner together, sat around a fire and enjoying the contact with nature.

Day 2:

Good Morning Colca Canyon! Breakfast is at 07:00 in the morning and at 07:30 we will depart to Cosñirhua and Malata . The main activity is fruit cultivation and agriculture so after 4 hours we will arrive to Oasis located in Sangalle area.


We spend the night in Paraiso Lodge which is one of the best in the area and we can enjoy the accomodations of the lodge such as the swimming pool there,etc.
Lunch will be at 01:00 pm and dinner is at 06:30pm. Both are included in the program.


Day 3:

Wake up call will be early in the morning (04:00 am) and the walk back to Cabanaconde starts at 05:00 am before the sunrise in order to avoid strong dehydration. The walk is uphill and it will take us aproximatedly 4 hours to arrive to Cabanaconde and breakfast will be provided there.


The touristic bus will depart from Cabanaconde at 10:00 am and it will take us to Chivay. On the way the bus will stop in Antahuilque where the views of the preinca terraces is incredible. After that we go directly to Chivay in order to enjoy the healing properties of the hot springs in Chivay.After one hour we come back to Chivay in order to have lunch.


Afterwards we continue with our trip back to Arequipa and on the way we will stop to see the andean cameloids (lamas,alpacas,vicuñas) in the National Reserve of Salinas and Aguada Blanca. The arrival to Arequipa is aproximatedly at 07:00pm.

The program includes:

-Entrance fee to the National Reserve Colca Canyon (35 soles)
-transportation
-accomodation
-local guide
-all meals included, except lunch in Chivay the third day.

The program doesn´t include

-Entrance fee to the hot spring in Chivay (10.00soles)
-Buffet lunch in Chivay
-Tips.

Tour price:185 soles.
